HUNTING AND SHOOTING

The Stasney Ranch is 25,000 acres of premium hunting habitat managed intensively for whitetail deer, hogs, dove, Rio Grande turkey & quail. The ranch received the Texas Parks and Wildlife Managed Lands stewardship award in 2006 and continues to work closely with the TPW to improve wildlife habitat.

Currently all deer memberships are filled for the 2020-2021 season. Day hunts in the High Fence are subject to availability for deer, elk, or aoudad. Please see our hunting prices for more information. We can also help you practice your aim at our trap, skeet, and rifle range. All hunters must possess a valid Texas hunting license and execute a release form. For more information on booking a hunt or availability, please contact our wildlife manager, Bill Hill at (325) 338-5168.

GO FISHING, SWIMMING, SUP, KAYAK & LEISURE

With many swimming pools closed across the country, there’s no better time to get in water. From our fishing dock, swim, kayak or SUP out to a floating dock complete with diving board. If lake water is too much for you, a chlorinated swimming pool overlooks all lake activities from its perch below the headquarters.

Just below HQ is a horseshoe pit and bocce ball court. If you’re feeling more adventurous, you could take a bike or jog the main roads.

WILDLIFE SAFARI

Take a sunrise or sunset tour through our high fence to see the best of what the ranch has to offer. Elk, deer, aoudad, turkeys, and just views for days. Schedule with our wildlife manager, Bill Hill for $150 (hey we can’t have him just driving around all day).

Keep an eye out for the painted bunting. It’s our favorite bird.

FOOD AND DRINK

If you’re not much of a chef, meals can be provided in the Cook Shack, our large open dining and meeting room with commercial kitchen and cooking facilities.  It can seat and serve around 80 guests at a time.  It also has an overhead projector and sound system for making presentations.

EXPLORE ALBANY

Known as one of the best small towns in Texas, highlights include the outdoor musical, the Fandangle, performed by the town during the month of June, the event features a colorful history of the area complete with, gun fights, dances, and displays of horsemanship. The Old Jail Museum off the courthouse square houses an impressive permanent collection with works by Renoir, Picasso, Matisse, and Calder. Changing exhibitions make multiple visits a must.

SHOPPING

Blanton Caldwell Trading Post is an experience in itself. The BC Kitchen store has everything from cookware to clothing and jewelry, while the men’s store has any outdoor hunting apparel or supplies that you could need.

RESTAURANTS IN TOWN

All of the Forts have coffee makers, and if you’re part of a large group, we make a good cup in the Cook Shack. However, if you need something fancy, we recommend Vintage Vanilla or Clear Fork Coffee. For Mexican food, we like Los Cazadores on Main.

BEST SMALL TOWN STEAKHOUSE IN TEXAS

Head to the Beehive Restaurant & Saloon for an unparalleled experience. Ali and Jess will treat you like family and serve one of the best steaks you’ve ever had. If you’re lucky to show up on Thursday, it’s all you can eat shrimp night. Watch out for the special tea served in mason jars.
